Sherlock Holmes: The first American television series of Sherlock Holmes adventures aired in syndication in the fall of 1954. The 39 half-hour mostly original stories were starring Ronald Howard (son of Leslie Howard) as Holmes and Howard Marion Crawford as Watson.

Holmes and Watson travel to Sussex to investigate the murder of Squire Douglas, who was shot to death in a sealed-up castle, with only two apparent suspects.
